Moto-gear shifter unit
The motor-gear shifter is a device designed to bring together the electric motor and the gearbox equipped with servo control in a single structure.
Such an integrated architecture allows cooperative and coordinated management of the engine and gearbox by the command and control unit.
The advantages of engine-gearbox integration are many, here are some others:
-
reduced weight compared to separate gearbox and engine parts
-
ideal location of the mass at the center and bottom of the vehicle
-
economy and cleanliness of design versus separate bodies
-
maintenance reduced to a minimum
-
respect for ergonomics
-
easy adaptation to local regulations
-
easy response to the need for greater performance
-
possibility of use with exhausted battery with or without gearbox
-
possibility of making multiple operating modes available, such as: manual, semi-automatic with priority of the gear ratio inserted or of the engine torque/power, fully automatic with limit delivery of power or driving torque, fully automatic with compensatory energy transit, cargo mode, etc
-
indication, choice and setting of the various operating modes from apps on smartphones and from the on-board interface.
In particular, the compensatory automatic mode offers the exclusive ability to assign to the control unit the task of merging and coordinating the associated engine and the gear-box in an interactive management, in order to optimize performance and consumption, regulating the engine torque and the speed ratio depending on the muscular energy input by the user, relieving him from the burden of managing the gearbox in the continuous search for minimum electricity consumption, confident that the vehicle's autonomy will be automatically managed and maximized with extreme accuracy.
The energy savings thus obtained allow the use of smaller batteries to be placed on board light vehicles by definition, and naturally extends their life by reducing the specific requirement for the number of charging cycles, with a consequent further advantage due to the reduced need for access to charging stations whose information on available places can be usefully made public by a smart mobility system

Moto-CVT unit
Similarly to the moto-gear shifter drive, a device is set up which includes a continuous speed variator instead of a gear ratio change, whose respective performances are similar.
The device equipped with CVT therefore maintains all the properties listed for the gear transmission device, with the addition of the provision, both in manual and automatic management, of infinite transmission ratios combined with the possibility of choosing from a range of preset ratios.

The continuous speed variator contained in the device implements the variation of the number of revolutions by means of a newly developed patented principle

All-in-one moto-gear shifter/cvt-control unit
For the production of newly designed vehicles, an moto-gear shifter/CVT-electronic command and control unit combined and contained in a single support is prepared, intended to equip vehicles of various types, not necessarily cycles, as OEM equipment.
When used on cycles you have all the advantages already listed for the Retrofit versions with the addition of benefits due to the simplicity of construction, the cleanliness of the design and the dynamics of the vehicle.
A further benefit for the designer lies in the greater freedom of positioning the electric battery on board the driven vehicle.

Gear shifter
A gear change device without a motor is further provided. It uses a gear change technique similar to that used in the moto-gearbox, and is intended as a device aimed at the technical updating of vehicles powered by muscle power.
The gear change control can be configured in manual or servo-controlled version with the indication of the gear engaged always present on the handlebars or where necessary.
Furthermore, the integration of a useful accessory such as the power meter is foreseen, the installation of which is in the current state of the art possible only as a separate element, added to the traditional devices.
The integrated power meter is usefully used in connection via blue-tooth with smartphone apps dedicated to the management of training activity for cycling, including competitive cycling.
